Andrew Wyeth(1917–2009) was an American realist painter who worked predominantly in a regionalist style. The regionalist style became popular from the 1920s through the 1950s in the Untied States, which focused on creating scenes of rural life. Wyeth’s work is a controversial subject within the art world as some find his paintings—mostly completed in watercolor and egg tempera—as over rated. He is one the best-know American painters of 20th century.
