Alphonse Mucha(1860-1939) was a Czech Art Nouveau painter and decorative artist, know best for his very distinct style. During his career, he created many paintings, posters, advertisements, and book illustrations, as well as designs for jewelry, carpets, wallpaper, and theatre sets characterized by his use for pastel beautiful young women in flowing neoclassical dresses surrounded by flowers. Although his work was considered outdated during his lifetime, his work has gone through periodic revivals throughout history among artists and illustrators, and is very popular today.
