We here at the Village Copier are avid readers. We like not spending money even more. As water cooler talk seemed to always come back to the books we were reading at the time, we began to share the great(and maybe not so great) books we’ve all been reading. The Girl on the Train follows the story of Rachel: an alcoholic trying to pick up the pieces of her life after her divorce. She takes the same commuter train every day that stops in front of the same house , allowing her to watch a couple eat breakfast on their deck each morning. Their life—unlike her own—seems perfect, and she begins to feel like she knows them. Then one day Rachel sees something that changes everything, and she becomes intertwined in their life and those of around them.

The Girl on the Train was an AMAZING book! Once I started reading it, I couldn’t put it down. I would read it walking up the stairs from the subway and even crossing the street. I wish there were more mystery books like this.

A very suspenseful book! Similar feel to Gone Girl, but I enjoyed it a whole lot more. There were more characters involved and you got to read the story from very different perspectives giving the story a richer body. The minor characters were also very well developed, allowing me to even further immerse myself in the story. I knew there would be plot twists, but they were unpredictable and kept me guessing until the end.

The Girl on the Train is a great summer read. Once I picked it up I couldn’t put it down. The book tells the story from different character’s perspectives, which adds an extra bit of suspense as you learn new information from all different points of view. It really kept me in the dark until the very end.
