The Six Wives of Henry VIII by Alison Weir is a historical account of one of the most interesting Monarchies of England. The book details the lives and role of each of the women who ruled alongside Henry VII during his reign. Using biographies, memoirs, letters, and more Weir compiles an in depth history of the women, the king, England, and the greater continent of Europe during the 16th century.

Once I started reading this book I couldn’t put it down! I’m always weary to start historical non-fiction as sometimes it can be a little dry and too technical, but Weir engages the reader right from the start. The book reads as more a novel, but what makes it more awesome is that this actually happened. A true lover of history, I really enjoyed learning more about such a monumental time in history.
