Pierre Bonnard (1867–1947) was a French painter and printmaker who was a founding member of the Post-Impressionist avant-garde group Les Nabis. Recognized for his unique use of color and complex imagery his work is know to rely less on traditional modes of pictorial structure. He is know for his intense use of color, and using drawing and photography to paint his subjects at a later time in his studio. Bonnard was a well-recognized and revered artist in time and his work continues to have great impact today.
